Salesmen's Convention in Chicago - 1920
Note that virtually everyone was holding his fedora or straw hat. A Madrid hat website has this to say about hats in general, and hats of the early 20th century in particular:

The period from 1920 to 1930 was the golden age of the hat since nobody went to the street without one. Until the 50's every man in the world covered his head." |
